Description

It’s time to reimagine the way we provide services to our students with IEPs, not by pulling them out, but by pushing in to build bridges of belonging within inclusive general education classrooms. In this energizing professional learning session, special education teachers will explore their evolving role as collaborators, co-designers, and champions of inclusive practices. We’ll explore collaborative planning tools and practical instructional resources that support the delivery of specially designed instruction (SDI) within universally designed classrooms.  You’ll walk away with strategies to co-serve students in ways that are meaningful, manageable, and grounded in best practice.

Objectives

  • Reframe the why of inclusion and push-in services through the lens of equity and belonging
  • Learn how to deliver SDI within general education without losing individualization
  • Explore practical UDL and SDI strategies that make inclusive teaching doable
  • Practice using collaborative tools to co-plan and co-serve with gen ed partners
