About Us

Novak Education is a 100% woman-owned organization renown for designing and delivering high-quality, evidence-based professional development on Universal Design for Learning (UDL), multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), evidence-based tiered interventions, inclusive practice, and effective leadership practices.

Our company has provided in-person and online professional development, long-term implementation, and consulting in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and multi-tiered intervention systems in 31 states and 28 countries to hundreds of thousands of educators and administrators and has worked with clients such as the NASA Science Activation Team, the Gates Foundation, Harvard University, Los Angeles Unified School District, and WGBH.

Additionally, Novak Educational Consulting has worked directly with state departments of education in Ohio, Minnesota, Hawaii, Wisconsin, Arizona, California, and Massachusetts to provide professional learning on UDL and the development of research-based multi-tiered systems of support. We have also worked with the US Department of Education Jobs for the Future (JFF) through the School Turnaround Learning Community and with the Office of Special Education Programs.

Novak Education is an approved Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) provider by the New York State Education Department and a Clock Hours provider for Washington State Educators. 

With extensive experience working locally, nationally, and internationally in urban, suburban, and rural schools and districts, Novak and associates have helped to improve the outcomes of administrators, teachers, and students by designing professional learning and technical assistance in curriculum, instruction, and leadership support that is universally designed, evidence-based, customized, and ongoing.

Our Team

Since 2017, Novak Education Consulting has been recognized as a leader in professional development. We are educators, experienced course instructors, practitioners, and ever-evolving learners. Our Founder

Dr. Katie Novak, Founder, and Executive Director

Katie is an internationally renowned education consultant, an author, adjunct professor at UPenn, and a former Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Massachusetts. Dr. Novak has more than 19 years of experience in teaching and administration, an earned doctorate in curriculum and teaching, and is the author of 8 published books, including the best-selling education books, UDL Now!, Equity By Design, and UDL and Blended Learning. Katie designs and presents professional learning opportunities both nationally and internationally focusing on implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and universally designed leadership. Novak’s work has been highlighted in many publications including Edutopia, Language Magazine, Motherly, ADDitude Magazine, Commonwealth Magazine, AMLE Magazine, the Huffington Post, ASCD Education Update, and School Administrator.
