The demand for the implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is more prevalent than ever. Which is why knowing the why, what, and how of UDL is pertinent to driving success. In this 7 session series, like-minded educators will unite to reflect, collaborate, and gain the knowledge to eliminate barriers that prevent our students and communities from reaching their ultimate potential.
When you register, members from your group will gain access to the Meeting the Needs of All Virtual Learning Series The series will provide your team with ample resources, relatable examples, and the know-how to take learning to implementation starting with the 2024 school year.
The seven part series is designed to take you through an introduction to Universal Design for Learning. Each session will be hosted live by an expert in their space, sharing knowledge, strategies, opportunities for engagement with materials and one another, and leaving you with resources to explore on your own time as you begin to work through the materials in your day to day life. The materials will be available for you to access or download for one year from the start of the course so you can come back and review any time. If you are unable to attend sessions live, while suggested, that is no problem at all. Every session will be posted for review within 24 hours along with all materials and resources. At the end of each session within the portal, there is an opportunity for self-reflection where learners can test their knowledge and continue to build and grow.
Step 1: Complete the contact form, our team will then follow up within 1-2 business days to provide an estimate based on your group size (Registration closes September 20th, 2024).
Step 2: Once you have reviewed and approved the estimate (and have provided a PO if applicable), Novak Education will then supply you with instructions on how your individual team members can access the series.
Step 3: Prior to the first session, your team will be invited to individually log in to the series portal (hosted on Thinkific). The Virtual Learning Series is where learners will be able to access all materials and resources shared within each session, can re-watch recordings, can join a community discussion to engage with fellow educators, and take time to self-access each session's learnings.

This course not only gave me the basic concepts of teaching methods and the structure of the educational process, but also inspired me to better understand the needs of students and try to give them a quality education. I think the course was excellent, without unnecessary information. I would like to thank the developers of the course!
I loved the ability to watch at a later date, as my schedule didn't allow me to tune in live. I also appreciated hearing from different presenters as a way to get different perspectives. November is usually one of the hardest times of the year teaching (kids are ready for a break, adults are exhausted, the weather is turning, etc.), and this series has kept me excited about trying something new at work. It's also helped me to conceptualize a better way to reach my ELL students and my students with IEPs.
I enjoyed that any time we answered a question or worked individually that options were presented. Great demonstration of the practice.
The various resources (in a variety of digital formats) were very helpful. I also appreciate the ability to go back and watch the sessions the next day.
I was able to access a wealth of resources, engage and connect with a community of learners. I learned at my own pace which was extremely convenient for me and there was enough practical examples and case studies that will help me apply UDL principals in my career as a teacher.
Is there any required coursework?
No there are no due dates or required materials for the Virtual Learning Series. However, if you wish to receive the completion certificate at end of the series from Novak Education, you will need to complete the four-five question assessment at the end of each session (7 total). They can be taken as many times as needed and are managed asynchronously and on your schedule. The goal is ensuring that the learning goals were met.
How will I be able to review the materials from the series?
All materials will be hosted in our Thinkific platform. Prior to the course, we will send you an invite to join the platform. There you will be able to review all recordings, resources, materials, and presentations. You can also engage with other classmates if you choose.
Do I have to complete this by a certain date?
We recommend following the schedule and attending sessions live. But if you miss a session or need to play catch up, all of the materials are at the ready when you are.
Where can I learn more about the facilitators?
