Mike Woodlock brings more than 25 years of experience leading meaningful change in schools, from the principal’s office to the superintendent’s seat. As Superintendent of Tyngsborough Public Schools in Massachusetts, as well as a an education consultant and published author, Mike brings a practitioner’s perspective to UDL, MTSS, and inclusive systems, grounded in the realities of leading this work every day.
Earlier in his career, Mike became a high school principal just as his district embarked on a significant transformation through UDL. He helped turn that vision into practice by engaging staff, rethinking schedules and staffing, launching innovative pilot programs, and creating the conditions for new practices to take hold. That experience has shaped his work with school and district leaders across the country who are navigating their own efforts to create more inclusive systems.
Mike is the co-author, with Dr. Katie Novak, of The UDL Playbook for School and District Leaders, and his work has been featured in the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Principal Leadership.
