Dr. Matt Bergman is a self-described “UDL evangelist” committed to empowering educators in K–12 and higher education. His mission is to foster inclusive, accessible, and engaging learning environments where all students can thrive. Matt’s work focuses on translating the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into practical strategies through lesson design, technology integration, artificial intelligence, and the Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT) framework
In 2010, fueled by his passion for supporting educators, Matt launched the award-winning blog and YouTube channel Learn Lead Grow, where he shares practical strategies and resources for incorporating UDL and technology into teaching practices.
Dr. Bergman’s career spans both K–12 and higher education. He began as a middle and high school teacher and technology integration specialist, supporting educators in innovative uses of digital learning. In higher education, he has served as an adjunct professor, instructional designer, assessment and curriculum coordinator, program director, and professional development leader working with faculty to strengthen teaching, curriculum design, and program quality.
His work has earned him several recognitions, including the 2015 PAECT Teacher of the Year Award and serving as a faculty member at Harvard University's UDL Institute. In 2024, he was awarded an Elizabethtown College Design Studio Fellowship exploring how UDL and artificial intelligence can enhance student learning.
Dr. Bergman currently serves as the Principal Education Consultant at Novak Education, where he works with schools and universities to support the implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive teaching practices. In addition to this work, he currently serves full-time as the Instructional Design Manager at Alvernia University, partnering with faculty to design engaging online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning experiences.
