Q: What is a Virtual Institute?
A: The Virtual Institutes are a cost-effective option for educators to enroll in an open enrollment webinar series focused on how to implement inclusive practices. Each institute consists of eight 1-hr webinars and is accompanied by opportunities to engage with fellow educators who also attend the series. These sessions are best experienced live so we highly recommend that, but we know that is not always possible so recordings and resources will be shared following each session. Learn more about the programs here: UDL Learning Institute | MTSS Institute
Q: Do you offer options for our team to facilitate one of your courses?
A: Indeed! You can run a Novak Education course in your school or district with an in-house facilitator to build your internal capacity. We will provide everything you need to load the course into your own Canvas instance or your Free-for-Teacher account, or give you the content to build the course in a different LMS.
Q: I am interested in one of your courses, but it doesn't look like there are any open enrollments for the course at this time.
A: If you are interested in scheduling a course with your group, you can contact us to schedule a 45-hour facilitated online course. Each course is universally designed and instructed by one of our team experts. Each section can accommodate up to 25 educators.
Are there any prerequisites for my course?
For most of our courses, there are no prerequisites, however, we do recommend that everyone starts with our introduction to Universal Design for Learning, UDL Now!, or something of a similar background. Start from the ground up and then continue to build on your journey to becoming an expert learner from there!
There are also some courses that have a required or recommended text which will be outlined under prerequisites on the course page.
Q; What do you offer for certification/options to meet educator professional learning requirements
A: We are focused on helping educators take their learning to the next step. We offer options for graduate credits, continuing education hours, CTLE (NY), Clock Hours (WA). When scheduling professional learning services, we will discuss what works best for meeting the needs of your educators.
