Dr. Christopher Bronke is a teacher to his core: energetic, passionate, and relentlessly focused on improving learning for every student. With more than twenty years in the classroom and twelve leading a team of teachers, Chris now partners with educators around the world to design inclusive and engaging classrooms for all learners. A lifelong secondary educator, he brings deep expertise in middle and high school instruction and helps challenge the misconception that Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is “just for elementary.” At the same time, his approachable style and practical strategies resonate across grade levels, making his work relevant and actionable for every educator. Known for his candor, clarity, and practical expertise, Chris empowers teachers to reflect, collaborate, and grow together.
At the national level, Chris has served on advisory panels for the Carnegie Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, chaired the Conference on English Leadership, and served on the Executive Committee for the National Council of Teachers of English. His work, spanning assessment design, standards-based learning, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), literacy, and deeper learning, has been featured in The Atlantic, Teaching Channel, and other major publications.
Chris holds master’s degrees in Teaching and Learning and Educational Leadership, an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Northern Illinois University. He also serves as adjunct faculty for Millikin University’s Tabor School of Business and as a graduate faculty scholar for Northern Illinois University’s College of Education.
