Dennet J. Sidell Ed. D.
Dennet J. Sidell, Ed.D. has been an elementary school Principal for the last 11 years, first in Melrose, MA and currently in Carlisle, MA. Throughout his career, Dennet has been a strong advocate of collaboration between special and regular education teachers. He has successfully integrated multicultural activities into schools, created and realized balanced literacy programs for students, and diligently promoted whole-class instruction for reading.
At the school level, Dennet’s primary goal is for each and every child to receive the education and support he or she needs in order to reach his or her fullest potential. He is fully committed to the philosophy of teaching to the whole child, giving children the opportunity to learn and become positive citizens, and to show excellence.
Prior to working in administration, Dennet worked as a teacher in Massachusetts in Lynn, Salisbury, North Andover, and Newton. He also currently teaches several courses at Lesley University including Behavior Management and Inclusive Classrooms. Dennet holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Music Education from Gordon College, a master’s degree in Moderate Special Needs from Lesley University, and a doctorate in Curriculum and Systemic Change from Nova Southeastern University.
Dennet lives with his wife Heather and five wonderful children ranging in ages from 7 to 17 years old. His family enjoys music, sports, gardening, reading, traveling and games. He has lived in Tokyo, Japan, as well as Senegal, Africa.
