We are so thrilled to announce our first online course, Universally Designing the PreK – Grade 2 Classroom, is open for enrollment.
Here at Novak Educational Consulting, we have always believed that educators deserve the same amazing educational experiences as their students. But as a practicing administrator, I also understand and recognize that it’s sometimes hard to provide the level of professional development and support teachers really need to nurture them through the process of implementing new programs, tools, and frameworks in their classrooms.
We wanted to do something to supplement the professional development and implementation support teachers have access to through their districts.
Our first course is a response to much of the feedback we have received over the years while providing professional development to schools across the world: UDL in the primary classroom takes special consideration.
How do you introduce choice, self-regulation, and self-assessment to students who are still learning to read, write, and control their emotions? We promise, there is a way, but it takes a leap of faith and persistence and grit (the same skills we want to foster in our students to support their path to expert learning) to see the payoff.
If you are interested in taking the course with my wonderful colleague, Laura Taylor, you can enroll here.
We would love to hear your feedback on other courses on UDL, MTSS, and inclusive practice you would like to see us offer. Simply drop an email to Lindie Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org. She would love to hear from you!
